Health Coach Program Details

The Health Coach Program volunteer opportunity is a one year commitment. Health coaches can choose to volunteer another year after their first year is completed.

Onboarding is in June each year and on-site trainings begin in August. Training is required and is lead by RUHS staff. Upon successful completion of training, coaches begin their volunteer assignments from September 1 to June 30 annually.

Health coaches will be placed in a Community Health Center within Riverside University Health System. A designated clinic location assignment is determined by program administration and clinic sites. Preferred clinic locations will be considered, but is not guaranteed. For a map of clinic locations, please visit here:

Shift Availability

Availability will vary according to clinic hours of operation. Please reference weekday clinic hours below.

In order to maximize your experience in the clinic, you are required to work at least 8 hours per week or 32 hours per month with an expectation of completing a minimum of 260 hours within the academic calendar (September to June 30).

Please reference clinic locations and their hours of operation when arranging volunteer work shifts with each clinic's manager.
